She sure registered on that screen. The minute the camera turned on her she became this incredible creature, and she was absolutely dazzling. She was-there’s no question about that. During our scenes she’d look at my forehead instead of my eyes. At the end of a take, she’d look to her coach for approval. If the headshake was no, she’d insist on another take. A scene often went to fifteen or more takes. Despite this I couldn’t dislike Marilyn. She had no meanness in her- no bitchery. She just had to concentrate on herself and the people who were there only for her… Fifty years on, we’re still watching her movies and talking about her. That’s not a dumb woman- trust me.

Day 16 Favourite event in Marilyn’s lifetime: Marilyn’s Korean Tour, starting February 16 1954.
I think I picked this event because Marilyn said how it was one of the happiest moments in her life time and something she forever held close to her heart. Marilyn travelled to ten different locations to entertain the troops and performed to over one hundred thousand soldiers and marines over a period of days. She always viewed it as one of the highlights in her career. “For the first time in my life, I had the feeling that the people seeing me were accepting me and liking me.” and “There were 17,000 soldiers in front of me, and they were yelling at me at the top of their lungs. I stood smiling at them… Standing in the snowfall facing these yelling soliders, I felt for the first time in my life no fear of anything. I felt only happy.”
